Product Description Recombinant full-length human ADAR1 (p110) was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal His-GST tag. The gene accession number is NM_001025107.3.
Scientific Background Adenosine deaminases acting on RNA (ADARs) are enzymes that catalyze the chemical conversion of denosines to inosines in double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) substrates. ADAR1 (p110) is a ubiquitously expressed isoform of the ADAR1 enzyme localized primarily in the nucleus (1). It contains double-stranded RNA-binding domains and a catalytic deaminase domain, enabling it to edit RNA by converting adenosine to inosine in double-stranded RNA regions. This RNA editing regulates processes such as alternative splicing, transcript stability, and protein diversity. ADAR1 (p110) is essential for maintaining proper gene expression and neural function and plays a role in the cellular stress response (2). Dysfunctions in ADAR1 (p110) activity have been implicated in tumor suppressive properties (3). References 1. Song, B. et al.: The role of RNA editing enzyme ADAR1 in human disease. Formulation Recombinant protein stored 50mM sodium phosphate, pH 7.0, 300mM NaCl, 150mM imidazole, 0.25mM DTT, 25% glycerol.
Storage and Stability Store product at –70oC. For optimal storage, aliquot target into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. For most favorable performance, avoid repeated handling and multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
