IL-12A is a subunit of a cytokine that acts on T and natural killer cells and has a broad array of biological activities. The cytokine is a disulfide-linked heterodimer composed of the 35-kD subunit encoded by this gene, and a 40-kD subunit that is a member of the cytokine receptor family. IL-12A, together with IL27B, form a disulfide-linked heterodimer: IL-12A&IL-27B. IL-12A&IL-27B is required for the T-cell-independent induction of IFN-gamma and is important for the differentiation of both Th1 and Th2 cells.

Cross-Reactivity: Centrifuge the vial before opening. Reconstitute to a concentration of 0.1-0.5 mg/mL in sterile distilled water. Avoid vortex or vigorously pipetting the protein. For long term storage,it is recommended to add a carrier protein or stablizer (e.g. 0.1% BSA,5% HSA,10% FBS or 5% Trehalose),and aliquot the reconstituted protein solution to minimize free-thaw cycles., ResearchArea: Cytokines & Cytokine receptors
