Zolbetuximab is a humanized monoclonal antibody directed against the human protein Claudin 18.2 (the isoform 2 of Claudin), and potentially used for the treatment of gastrointestinal adenocarcinomas and pancreatic tumors. Zolbetuximab is an Fc-engineered, humanized, monoclonal antibody (IgG1kappa isotype). Zolbetuximab biosimilar uses the same protein sequences as the potential therapeutic antibody zolbetuximab .Claudin-18 in humans is a protein encoded by the CLDN18 gene. The CLDN18 protein belongs to the large claudin family of proteins, which form tight junction strands in epithelial cells. Isoform 2 (Claudin 18.2) is abundant in gastric tumors.
