MR1 is also knwon as MHC class Irelated gene protein. Antigenpresenting molecule specialized in displaying microbial pyrimidinebased metabolites to alphabeta T cell receptors (TCR) on innatetype mucosalassociated invariant T (MAIT) cells. In complex with B2M preferentially presents riboflavinderived metabolites to semiinvariant TRAV12 TCRs on MAIT cells, guiding immune surveillance of the microbial metabolome at mucosal epithelial barriers. Signature pyrimidinebased microbial antigens are generated via nonenzymatic condensation of metabolite intermediates of the riboflavin pathway with byproducts arising from other metabolic pathways such as glycolysis. Typical potent antigenic metabolites are 5(2oxoethylideneamino)6Dribitylaminouracil (5OERU) and 5(2oxopropylideneamino)6Dribitylaminouracil (5OPRU), products of condensation of 5amino6Dribityaminouracil (5ARU) with glyoxal or methylglyoxal byproducts, respectively. - Proteine/Peptide
