ANAPC1 is 1 of at least 10 subunits of theanaphase-promoting complex (APC), which functions at themetaphase-to-anaphase transition of the cell cycle and is regulatedby spindle checkpoint proteins. The APC is an E3 ubiquitin ligasethat targets cell cycle regulatory proteins for degradation by theproteasome, thereby allowing progression through the cellcycle.
