11-Keto-beta-boswellic acid (11-Keto-beta-boswellic acid) is a pentacyclic triterpenoid acid derived from the oleoresin of the bark of the Boswellia serrate tree commonly known as Indian Frankincense. 11-Keto-beta-boswellic acid has anti-inflammatory activity, mainly due to inhibition of 5-lipoxygenase (5-lipoxygenase, Activation of 5-LOX), leukotriene, activation of NF-kappaB and production of tumor necrosis factor alpha.
