Interleukin-6 Receptor Alpha belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. It binds specifically to IL-6 and depends on gp130 to transmit signals. Measured in a cell proliferation assay using M1 cells in the presence of 10.0 ng/ mL human IL-6, the ED50 is < 0.2 µg/mL.
