Interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) is a cytokine produced primarily by T-lymphocytes and natural killer cells. IFN-gamma signaling does diverse biological functions primarily related to host defense and immune regulation, including antiviral and antibacterial defense, apoptosis, inflammation, and innate and acquired immunity.
