ERB 041 is a potent and selective estrogen receptor beta (ERbeta) agonist, with IC50s of 5.4, 3.1, and 3.7 nM for ERbeta in humans, rats, and mice, respectively.ERB 041 is more than 200 times more selective for ERbeta than for ERalpha. In addition, ERB 041 inhibits the WNT/beta-catenin signaling pathway and induces apoptosis in ovarian cancer cells.
