PGK1 is a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of 1,3-diphosphoglycerate to 3-phosphoglycerate. The protein may also act as a cofactor for polymerase alpha.The protein encoded by this gene is a glycolytic enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of 1,3-diphosphoglycerate to 3-phosphoglycerate. The encoded protein may also act as a cofactor for polymerase alpha. A pseudogene of this gene has been found on the X-chromosome and another on chromosome 19. 25 ug of the indicated Human whole cell extracts was loaded onto a 12% SDS-PAGE gel. 0.5 ug/mL of the antibody was used in this experiment. PGK1 is a highly abundant sample in most sample types with two or more possible isoforms at 45 kDa and 41 kDa. Use care in dilution considering the relative abundance of this protein in western blotting.
