RIP2 is a protein encoded by the RIPK2 gene. RIP2 is localised to the cytoplasm. It is involved in activated TLR4 signalling, p75 NTR receptor-mediated signalling, toll-like receptor signalling pathways and cytokine signalling in immune system. It is a serine/threonine/tyrosine kinase that contains a C-terminal caspase activation and recruitment domain and plays an essential role in modulation of innate and adaptive immune responses. RIP2 is expressed in the heart, brain, placenta, lung, peripheral blood leukocytes, spleen and kidney. Mutations in the RIPK2 gene may result in x-linked lymphoproliferative syndrome and human granulocytic anaplasmosis. STJ90957 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This primary antibody specifically binds to endogenous RIP2 protein which only binds about S176 when S176 is phosphorylated.
