This antibody recognizes a protein of 71 kDa, identified as Transcription Factor 4 (TCF4). It is a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor. The protein recognizes an Ephrussi-box (E-box) binding site (CANNTG) - a motif first identified in immunoglobulin enhancers. This gene is broadly expressed, and may play an important role in nervous system development. Defects in this gene are a cause of Pitt-Hopkins syndrome. Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels. CF Dyes offer exceptional brightness and photostability. Note: Conjugates of blue fluorescent dyes like CF405S and CF405M are not recommended for detecting low abundance targets, because blue dyes have lower fluorescence and can give higher non-specific background than other dye colors.
