CD1A is a type 1 cell surface transmembrane glycoprotein structurally similar to MHC Class 1 that is expressed in association with beta2-microglobulin. CD1A is a member of the CD1 family and has been shown to mediate the presentation of primary lipid and glycolipid antigens to T cell lymphocytes for recognition. It is expressed by Langerhans cells, cortical double positive and single positive thymocytes, and by interdigitating dendritic cells. CD1A has been shown to identify T cell development.
The antibody was affinity-purified from mouse antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).
