Boromycin is a boron-containing macrolide antibiotic isolated from Streptomyces, exhibiting potent antibacterial activity against Bacillus species by disrupting potassium ion homeostasis and inhibiting macromolecule synthesis. It also demonstrates anti-HIV activity in vitro by inhibiting viral replication in MT-4 cells and PBMCs, and has been shown to reverse bleomycin-induced G2 arrest in Jurkat cells.
