SB-218078 is a potent, ATP-competitive, and cell-permeable inhibitor of checkpoint kinase 1 (Chk1), inhibiting cdc25C phosphorylation with an IC50 of 15 nM. It shows weaker activity against Cdc2 and PKC. This inhibitor is widely used in vitro to study DNA damage response, cell cycle checkpoint mechanisms, and as a potential chemosensitizer in cancer research.
