Norneostigmine is a potent inhibitor of AChE capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier. When administered to mice, it achieves a 50% inhibition rate of brain AChE activity within 10 minutes, comparable to the effect of Tetrahydroaminoacridine (57% inhibition in 10 minutes). Norneostigmine is applicable in research on Alzheimers disease and other memory-related disorders.
