Caspase 6 cleaves the mutated huntintin protein and the amyloid precursor protein resulting in the aggregating protein fragments typical of Huntingtona€(TM)s and Alzheimera€(TM)s diseases respectively.Activity is quantified by the release of p-nitroaniline which is measured by absorbance at 405 nm.
