Product Description This truncated sphingosine-1-phosphate lyase (a.a. 62-5686) protein has a N-terminal His tag, was expressed in Sf9 cells and purified using nickel-NTA chromatrography. It was also tested for activity using a modified version of the S1P ELISA kit. Please request the certificate of analysis to see the specific activity of our current lot. Sphingosine-1-phosphate lyase (SPL) (E.C.4.1.2.27) works as a key regulator in the final step of the sphingolipid degradative pathway by irreversibly breaking down sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) to ethanolamine phosphate and hexadecenal. S1P signaling, through its five receptors, is involved in many biological events such as proliferation, inflammation, and apoptosis in cancer and other degenerative diseases.
