Netoglitazone mediates cell type-specific functional regulation, and modulates the transcriptional activity of PPARgamma as a full agonist, partial agonist or antagonist. Netoglitazone induces adipogenesis, inhibits osteoblastogenesis, alters the weight of extramedullary fat depots and enhances insulin sensitivity. Netoglitazone reduces blood glucose levels.
