Arimoclomol citrate protects motor neurons by enhancing Hsp expression, thus directly affecting protein aggregation and clearance of misfolded assemblies via the proteasome-ubiquitin system[2]. Arimoclomol citrate can be used for the study of Niemann-Pick disease type C.
