CP 461 free base (OSI-461 free base) is a novel pro-apoptotic compound with the activity of inhibiting cyclic guanosine monophosphate phosphodiesterase. CP 461 free base exhibits growth inhibitory activity against a variety of human tumor cell lines in vitro. CP 461 free base selectively induces apoptosis in cancer cell lines but has no effect on normal cells. CP 461 free base can be used in the study of renal cell carcinoma, prostate cancer and Crohns disease[1].
