RS-51324 is an orally active antidepressant and a potent membrane pump inhibitor. RS-51324 inhibits norepinephrine uptake and reverses reserpine (HY-N0480)-induced hypothermia. Although lacking MAO inhibition and anticholinergic activity, RS-51324 enhances the effects of L-DOPA (a metabolic precursor of dopamine), potentiates tyramine-induced pressor responses, and has mild antihistamine activity. The LD50 of RS-51324 is >2 g/kg[1][2].
