Methylmalonyl-CoA (Isosuccinyl coenzyme A, Methylmalonyl coenzyme A) is a catabolite of odd-chain fatty acids, cholesterol, and a small number of amino acids (such as valine, isoleucine, methionine, and threonine). Methylmalonyl-CoA is converted to succinyl-CoA via an enzymatic reaction catalyzed by methylmalonyl-CoA mutase (MCM) with its coenzyme vitamin B12. Methylmalonyl-CoA is used to study methylmalonic acidemia[1].
