CUHK242 is a bacterial transcription inhibitor, with a MIC of 2 µg/mL for B. subtilis reporter strain BS2019. CUHK242 has antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. CUHK242 can inhibit RNA synthesis in cells, thereby simultaneously reducing protein synthesis[1].
