Vasoactive intestinal peptide enhances anti-inflammatory mediators like IL-10 and TGF-beta, inhibites pro-inflammatory factors such as IL-1beta and TNF-alpha, and upregulates lipid mediator-related enzymes (SOCS3, COX-2, ALOX12) to promote inflammation resolution. Vasoactive intestinal peptide is promising for research of ocular infectious diseases[1].
