MAO-B-IN-53 exhibits mixed reversible inhibition, binds stably to the hMAO-B active site, and shows high selectivity over hMAO-A. MAO-B-IN-53 acts as a neuroprotective agent, protects against 6-OHDA-induced damage, and exhibits low neurotoxicity in neuroblastoma cells. MAO-B-IN-53 can be used for the research of Parkinsons disease[1].
