Neoglycyrol is a PI3K/AKT modulator with anti-inflammatory activity, featuring differentiation-inducing and antiproliferative properties. Neoglycyrol serves as a candidate pharmacological quality control marker for Hangeshashinto, a traditional Japanese herbal formula. By downregulating the phosphorylation levels of PI3K and AKT, Neoglycyrol induces MITF expression, enhances tyrosinase activity and melanin content, while inhibiting IL-1beta-induced prostaglandin E2 production. Neoglycyrol can be used in research on related diseases such as melanoma and stomatitis[1][2].
