Neodiosmin is a glycosylated flavonoid found in citrus fruits such as sour oranges. Neodiosmin serves as a food additive, acting both as Impurity B of neohesperidin dihydrochalcone (HY-N0154) and an effective inhibitor of bitter taste and off-flavor aftertastes. The dissolution of Neodiosmin can be facilitated by a beta-cyclodextrin-lysine ternary complex. Neodiosmin accumulates at the highest level during the cell division stage in the early growth period of sour oranges and exhibits multiple biological activities including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anticancer, lipid-lowering and hypoglycemic effects. Neodiosmin is widely used in studies related to colorectal cancer, hyperlipidemia, type 2 diabetes, as well as various infectious and inflammatory diseases[1][2][3][4].
