Phaseoloidin reduces the expression of collagen-degrading enzymes to maintain the integrity of cartilage matrix. Phaseoloidin activates the AMPK/mTOR pathway to enhance autophagic function. Phaseoloidin exerts adverse effects on the growth and development of Manduca sexta and Spodoptera littoralis larvae, inhibits larval growth, and thereby helps Nicotiana attenuata defend against lepidopteran herbivorous insects. Phaseoloidin is applicable to research related to acute gouty arthritis and pulmonary fibrosis[1][2][3].
