Human prealbumin (Human transthyretin) is a homotetrameric protein mainly synthesised by the liver and the choroid plexus. Human prealbumin transports the thyroid hormone thyroxine and the retinol-binding protein bound to retinol in plasma and cerebrospinal fluid[1].
