Pyroglutamic acid-modified Abeta (pEAbeta) (3-42) is the core of the amyloid plaque in Alzheimers disease. pEAbeta (3-42) accelerates the aggregation of Abeta(1-42), while Abeta(1-42) significantly slows down the primary and secondary nucleation of pEAbeta(3-42).
