MAPT promotes microtubule assembly and stability and may be involved in the establishment and maintenance of neuronal polarity. Overexpression of MAPT is associated with a poor prognosis of prostate cancer. MAPT has been linked to neurological disorders such as Alzheimers and Parkinsons disease.
