This reduces glucose utilization, enhances fat metabolism, and helps maintain blood glucose levels during fasting. PDK4 also regulates fatty acid oxidation and biosynthesis, generates reactive oxygen species, protects epithelial cells, and regulates cell proliferation through metabolic regulation.
