AURA is a mitotic serine/threonine kinase that complexly controls cell cycle progression and various mitotic events. AURA associates with centrosomes and spindle microtubules during mitosis and plays a critical role in spindle establishment, centrosome duplication, chromosome alignment, spindle assembly checkpoint activation, and cytokinesis.
