NCK1 protein is an adapter protein that binds to tyrosine phosphorylated receptors (KDR, PDGFRB) and cellular substrates and plays a key role in the dephosphorylation of EIF2S1 by PP1. It contributes to the efficient activation of DNA damage response effector (CHEK2) and ELK1-dependent transcriptional activation in Ras signaling.
