ZW10 interactor (ZWINT) is clearly involved in kinetochore function. ZWINT interacts with ZW10, a kinetochore protein, possibly regulating the association between ZW10 and kinetochores. ZWINT is required for kinetochore formation and spindle checkpoint activity and remains detectable on the kinetochore until late anaphase. ZWINT has a uniform distribution in the cytoplasm of interphase cells.
