FGF-21 is a metabolic regulator and a potential anti-diabetic agent. FGF-21 regulates energy balance and glucose and lipid homeostasis through a heterodimeric receptor complex comprising FGFR1 and -klotho. FGF-21 can also signal through FGFR2 and FGFR3. FGF-21 can be used for research of obesity, NASH, NAFLD, and type 2 diabetes mellitus[1][2].
