The CD39L4/ENTPD5 protein is located in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum and plays a crucial role in glycoprotein processing by hydrolyzing nucleoside diphosphates (including GDP, IDP, and UDP). Its enzymatic activity is critical for the clearance of UDP, an end-product feedback inhibitor of UDP-Glc:glycoprotein glucosyltransferase.
