Glycoprotein B (gB) is a key envelope glycoprotein. gB plays a key role in the fusion of viruses and cell membranes, facilitating the entry of viruses into host cells. gB interacts with heparin sulfate proteoglycans and is associated with gH/gL heterodimers. gB is activated by TLR2 and MyD88/ TRAF6-dependent signaling pathways NF-kappaB.
