Syndecan-1/CD138 Protein, a cell surface proteoglycan, connects the cytoskeleton to the interstitial matrix with heparan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate. It regulates exosome biogenesis with SDCBP and PDCD6IP. Syndecan-1/CD138 Protein induces its own expression through an MSX1 pathway in dental cells and interacts with CDCP1 and TIAM1. It also interacts with MDK, participating in diverse cellular processes.
