Serrumab is a human monoclonal antibody that counteracts the biochemical and immunological effects of Tityus serrulatus venom. Serrumab inhibits the TsV-induced increase in the production of IL-6, TNFalpha and IL-10. Serrumab also prevents TsV-induced elevations in plasma urea, creatinine, aspartate transaminase and glucose levels, as well as the TsV-induced increase in neutrophil recruitment. Serrumab can be used in research related to envenoming by the Brazilian yellow scorpion[1].
