Felodipine can prevent the activation of the vascular effector cells and interfere with the contractile process in vitro. Felodipine lowers mean arterial blood pressure by 20% in dog model. (S)-(-)-Felodipine shows high metabolic rate in rat and dog liver microsomes[1][2].
