Non-viable cell pellet was generated from cell line WM3060. WM3060 is a metastatic human melanoma cell line established from a metastatic site (left axillary nodes) in a 55-year-old male with level III malignant melanoma. The subject displayed VGP, and RGP with a tumor thickness of 3.0 mm. This cell line was derived from the same patient as the cell lines WM2013, and WM1960. This cell line contains a Q61K mutation at position 61 in the N-RAS gene which causes increased signaling via the extracellular signal-regulated MAPK/ERK kinase pathways to enhance proliferation. This cell line is wild type for BRAF, PTEN, c-KIT, and CDK4. WM3060 cells produce xenograft tumors when injected into immunocompromised mice.
