Non-viable cell pellet was generated from cell line WM3928. WM3928 is a human metastatic melanoma cell line that displays a mesenchymal morphology. This cell line was established from a left inguinal lymph node metastatic site of a patient. This cell line contains the PTEN Y177X substitution mutation. Y177 is a phosphorylation site in PTEN and mutation of Y177 leads to misregulation of PTEN function. This cell line contains wild type BRAF, N-RAS, c-KIT and CDK4 genes. WM3928 cells produce xenograft tumors when injected into immunocompromised mice.
