Spirovirimat (Compound 7) is a potent inhibitor of the monkeypox virus (MPXV) p37 protein, with an IC50 value of 35 nM. It obstructs the formation of extracellular viral particles by inhibiting the viral membrane envelopment process. Spirovirimat shows potential for studying monkeypox virus infections.
