Sulfo-Cy5.5-ALN is a fluorescent-labeled alendronate that targets bone. It binds in vitro to hydroxyapatite and differentiated osteoblasts, selectively attaching to mineralized areas of tumors. Sulfo-Cy5.5-ALN is utilized for detecting excessive bone growth in prostate bone metastases.
