AF 594 carboxylic acid is the carboxyl derivative of the red fluorescent dye AF 594, characterized by a high fluorescence quantum yield and excellent photostability (with a maximum excitation wavelength of 594 nm and a maximum emission wavelength of 615 nm). It can react with amino-containing molecules through its carboxylic acid group to form stable covalent bonds.
