SF-C5-TPP is an effective mitochondrial-targeting protonophore that acts as an uncoupler. It demonstrates significant proton transfer activity on model planar bilayer lipid membranes. SF-C5-TPP inhibits the growth of Bacillus subtilis, with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 2 µM.
