alpha4beta1antagonist-1 (Compound 4) is a highly selective alpha4beta1 integrin antagonist with an IC50 of 15 nM. It inhibits integrin-mediated cell adhesion and the activation of the ERK1/2 signaling pathway. alpha4beta1antagonist-1 also exhibits partial agonist activity on alphaMbeta2 integrin with an EC50 of 23 nM. This compound shows potential for research in chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis, as well as in cancer.
