Miaosporone A is an angucyclic quinone which shows cytotoxic activities against both cancerous (MCF-7 and NCI-H187) and nonmalignant (Vero) cells. Miaosporone A has antibacterial activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and antimalarial activity against Plasmodium falciparum K1 with IC50 values of 2.4 µM and 2.5, respectively [1].
